What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign is a state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment system that uses a series of clear, nearly invisible aligners to gradually straighten your teeth and move them into their proper position.

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign uses a thermoplastic known as SmartTrack®. SmartTrack is FDA-approved and free of all allergens, including BPS, BPX, latex, and gluten. As a result, it’s ideal for people of all ages, including those with allergies.

Invisalign aligners are also removable. This means they’re much easier to clean and care for than traditional metal braces, and there are no food restrictions. Eat as much popcorn and hard candy as you want, just make sure to brush and floss your teeth regularly.

What types of issues can Invisalign correct?

At Advanced Orthodontics, Dr. Singh usually recommends Invisalign treatment to correct mild or moderate orthodontic problems, including:

  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Overbite

You might also benefit from Invisalign treatment if you have noticeable gaps or spaces between your teeth.

What is the Invisalign treatment process?

Invisalign treatment starts with a one-on-one consultation at Advanced Orthodontics. During your appointment, Dr. Singh does an oral exam, reviews your medical history, and asks you about your orthodontic goals. After evaluating your smile, Dr. Singh develops a precise, customized treatment plan that maps out the step-by-step transformation of your smile.

Next, Dr. Singh takes digital impressions of your teeth. She sends these impressions to a dental laboratory that manufactures your first set of Invisalign aligners. You wear each set of aligners 20-22 hours each day and return to Advanced Orthodontics every 1-2 weeks to change into a new set. Each set of aligners slowly but surely shifts your teeth into place, improving the aesthetic appearance of your smile.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The length of Invisalign treatment varies from person-to-person. However, most people complete the plan within 12-18 months. To achieve the best possible results, wear your aligners regularly, and attend all of your follow up appointments. These two factors go a long way toward speeding up the process.

How do I care for my Invisalign aligners?

Caring for your Invisalign aligners is easy and hassle-free. Dr. Singh recommends rinsing them off in cool tap water a couple of times each day. You should also gently brush them at least once each day with toothpaste and a soft-bristle toothbrush. For more thorough cleanings, ask Dr. Singh about the Invisalign Cleaning System.

If you’re a teenager or adult who dreams of a straighter, more attractive smile, Invisalign may be able to help. Request your Invisalign consultation at Advanced Orthodontics by calling the office or using the online booking tool.
